Time to Redefine Skill Development in India

The World Economic Forum predicts 5mn jobs will be lost before 2020. More skilled workforce will be needed in AI,Robotics, nano technology, 3D printing. And other socio economic factors replace the need for human workers, particularly clerical & manual. But the same technological advancement will also create 2.1mn jobs requiring different / specific skills and competencies. Like China has bought most industrial robots than any other country with the predictability of growth in manufacturing of 150% by 2018. Though skill training in trades like fitter, foremen are more, perhaps apt in Indian scenario until the technology adoption becomes a norm in various industries. Considering the pace, push & scale of Digitization currently happening, the focus will soon be back to manufacturing revolution which India bypassed earlier. i.e redefining Make in India
